Xtralis is now part of Honeywell. It is a private company. It produces smoke detection, gas detection and video surveillance security products for early detection, visual verification, and fire prevention and intrusion threats.

Company history

Xtralis Pty Ltd. established in 1982 and established in 1983 under the name of Vision Fire & amp; Security Pty Ltd Headquarters is located in Dublin, Ireland. Xtralis acquired two companies: ASIM Technologies Ltd (in 2007) and VSK Group (also in 2007). In 2011 Xtralis later acquired the company HeiTel Digital Video GmbH. The company currently operates in more than 100 countries and employs over 400 people. The headquarters for the Fire and Environment division of the company is in Melbourne and the headquarters for the Security Applications division is in Brussels.

Products

Xtralis produces VESDA and ICAM brand aspirating smoke detector (ASD). They also produce ECO, attachment module for VESDA & amp; The ICAM smoke detector that detects the gas by attaching to the ASD pipeline and the air sampling the ASD image to the detector. Alarms are designed to work in a variety of environments, such as semiconductor net space, data centers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and mining facilities - a variety of clean and very dirty or dangerous environments. In 2011 Xtralis began producing non-ASD systems, called OSID, which use optical detectors to sense infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths and detect smoke. This system was awarded the New Product Award of Fire and Life Product Safety North America by Frost & amp; Sullivan. The Xtralis smoke detection system is used by one-third of all Fortune 500 companies.

ADPRO is the main Xtralis security product line, featuring video & amp; audio recording, transmitting, and analyzing video content; access control; intrusion detection system; and Passive Infrared sensors (PIRs) designed for outdoor protection and individual detection up to 150 meters. ADPRO technology uses algorithms that filter out non-threatening factors to reduce the frequency of false alarms. Through the HeiTel group, Xtralis also sells digital video recorder and transmission equipment for remote monitoring. Xtralis security system is used by about 40% of Fortune 500 companies.

Xtralis smoke detector and security systems have been installed in the European Parliament in Brussels, and the company locations for Volkswagen and Renault. Other major institutions using the Xtralis system are: NASA, Dome of the Rock, Clinton Presidency Center, Hearst Castle, Prison Service, Heathrow airport and Eurostar rail system.

Acquisition by Honeywell

In February 4.2016 Honeywell has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Xtralis.
