Liverwurst , leberwurst , or liver sausage is a kind of sausage made from the liver. It is eaten in many parts of Europe, including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania (mainly in Transylvania), Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, English; it is also found in North and South America, especially in Argentina and Chile.
Most varieties of liverwurst can be transmitted. Liverwurst usually contains pig or cow liver. Other ingredients are meat (especially veal), fat, and spices including black pepper, marjoram, allspice, thyme, ground mustard seed, or nutmeg. Many regions in Germany have different recipes for sweepers. Adding ingredients such as chunks of onions or bacon to the recipe makes each of the various presentations of great importance to cultural identity. In the Northeast US, liverwurst is served with dill pickles (ginskins acidified with salt and dill).

Pasztetowa is made using the calf's liver. It is often served on wheat bread with mustard-style radish. Pasztetowa is popular all year round, but it is most often served at Christmas and Easter.
