Franklin Barbecue is a barbecue restaurant located in Austin, Texas. In 2009, Aaron Franklin launched a restaurant in a trailer. The restaurant has sold out of brisket every day since its establishment. Franklin Barbecue moved to a brick and mortar location in 2011. The restaurant appears in Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations in September 2012. In 2014, Texas Monthly lists restaurants on list "50 Best BBQ Connection in the World." In July, President Barack Obama visited the restaurant and bought lunch for those lined up behind him. The restaurant is clearly displayed in a scene from the movie Jon Favreau 2014 Chef , with acting spoken by owner Aaron Franklin and general manager Benji Jacob.
In May 2015, Franklin Barbecue owner Aaron Franklin was awarded the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southwest. He is the only chef who is an expert in barbecue ever nominated, or receiving, an award.
On the morning of August 26, 2017, a fire broke out in the smoke-house section of an Austin restaurant, a very damaging part of the outbuildings. The main restaurant area only suffered smoke damage.

In 2013 the PBS Austin KLRU station works with Aaron Franklin to produce a web series on barbecue. The show appeared on TV Create network which is part of the PBS family.
