Plot
At the funeral of their German-born grandfather Johann von Wolfhausen (Donald Sutherland), Jan's brothers and Todd Wolfhouse (Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske) discovered that the family tradition required them to travel to Munich during Oktoberfest to spread the ashes at Theresienwiese.
In Munich, the brothers accidentally started a fight that tore down the entire Oktoberfest tent. They participated in Beerfest, an underground drinking game tournament, run by Baron Wolfgang von Wolfhausen (JÃÆ'ürgen Prochnow), where they found that von Wolfhausens is associated with the Wolfhouses. The German team revealed that Johann was a stable boy who stole the recipe for "the greatest beer in all the worlds ze" a few decades ago and fled with his prostitute mother, Gam Gam. Vowing to take revenge on Germany, Jan and Todd returned to Colorado, where they recruited college drinkers on campus for the American Beerfest team. Among them are: Barry Badrinath who is good at drinking games like Beer Pong and has since become a male prostitute, Steve "Fink" Finklestein who has a PhD in Chemistry, and Phil "Landfill" Krundle who has been known to drink a lot of beer.
During the team's training year, Jan and Todd learned that their grandfather did not steal a family beer recipe, but was actually a legitimate heir to a family brewing in Bavaria. The team uses recipes that are rediscovered to brew Schnitzengiggle beer, which is so good that it makes them cry. After the German team received a bottle of Schnitzengiggle in the mail, the Wolfhausen clan went to America to retrieve the recipe. Their agent Cherry (Mo'nique) stole the receip from Fink's computer, and drowned Landfill in a beer keg when he caught it. Thinking he committed suicide, the team decided to disband, but changed his mind when Landfill's twin brother Gil joined. Like his brother, Gil has been known to drink a lot of beer and he even invited other members of the team to call him "Landfill" in honor of his dead brother.
In Germany, the team used empty wooden barrels as the Trojan Horse to go inside, where they appeared to mock and scoff. Americans were allowed to participate after Jan and Todd showed how incredible they resembled the two Beerfest founders, thus convincing their Wolfenberg vorten crowd. In the final (bootline chug), Cherry told Gil at the crucial moment how his brother Phil died, causing Gil to crack and Germany win.
Jan offers double or no chance German. The Germans told Jan that they already had the recipe and therefore did not have to do a rematch, but Fink pointed out that Cherry just stole the recipe for a low-carb strawberry beer, which prompted Wolfgang to have Cherry killed. When one von Wolfhausens finishes Fink's yarmulke, he enters a state of pure concentrated anger ("The Eyes of the Jews") that allows him to coach the team to victory, barely getting a win when the German team's anchor fails to finish "Das Boot" (Boot beer ) with one drop.
In post credits, the team went to Amsterdam to celebrate their victory in winning the brewery. After their journey, they find Willie Nelson who needs a team to contest international cannabis smoking.

Potfest
Despite the statement at the end of Beerfest that Potfest is "coming soon", Broken Lizard intends this as a joke to get publicity. They have stated that fans strongly support the title and that Broken Lizard may decide to make an animated film of the same name. In July 2012, Broken Lizard member Jay Chandraskehar reveals Smokefest may well happen, and Willie Nelson, Cheech of Cheech & amp; Chong and Snoop Dogg agreed to perform in the film. In June 2013, confirmed that the movie will be released after Super Troopers 2 . By 2014, it is certain that this will be a live action film rather than the proposed animated film. It was announced that the Beerfest TV series will air on CW Seed.
