The slag bar is the American term for a small sandwich, usually about 2 inches (5.1 cm), made with bread. The term refers primarily to small hamburgers, but can also include small sandwiches made with roll sliders. Initially, it was used to describe a small onion-steamed burger at the White Castle restaurant. White Castle trademarked the spelling variant of "Slyder" and used it between 1985 and 2009.
