A terrine ( French pronunciation: Ã, [t?.?]] ) most commonly referring to French forcemeat toast similar to pÃÆ'¢Ã © tà © Ã… ©, made with a more roughly chopped material. Terrines are usually served cold or at room temperature. Most terrains contain lots of fat and pork, though often not the main ingredient; many terrine is made with distinctive game meat, such as birds and rabbits.

The word also, though less common, is used to refer to other foods that are cooked or served on the same plate.
